Baked Ham With Orange & Pomegranate Glaze
Ingredients
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup orange juice
- ¼ cup pomegranate molasses*
- 2 tsp honey
- 2 strips orange rind
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 whole star anise (optional)
- 1 sprig thyme
- 5kg DON Leg Ham

Method
- For the glaze, combine all of the ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Reduce heat and simmer for 4-5 minutes. Set aside.
- Pre-heat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Prepare ham, by removing the netting and patting dry with paper towel. Place into a large oven tray lined with baking paper.
- Brush ham all over with some of the glaze and bake for 1 hour. Baste generously with the glaze every 15-20 minutes. Once cooking is complete, set ham aside and allow to cool. Serve warm or cold.
- Serve sliced ham garnished with oranges, pomegranates and fresh herbs. Accompany with your desired salads or vegetables. *Pomegranate molasses is readily available at your local supermarket
